A little about these 6.5 Navistar Engines

6.5l  diesel engine long block taken
from a running military Humvee, Hummer, HMMWV. (lots of nick names)
These engines are the 506 Block cast by
International Harvester. Cast Dates range from 2002 to 2008.

WHERE DID THESE ENGINES COME FROM?
This is one of many excellent take-out 6.5
diesel engines that we have on hand from military HMWVVs.
They were taken out of running HMWVV.

ARE THESE ENGINES TURBO COMPATIBLE?
These engines can replace Turbo'd or non-Turbo'd 6.5 engines.
The ONLY instances where these engines will not replace the
original are in a turbo'd van application or any other vehicle that
has the turbo mounted in the "valley" between the heads
(like in some HMMWVs). If your turbo is mounted on the side of the
heads  no problem. Center Mount turbo 6.5’s are available contact
us via message

ENGINE DESCRIPTION:
Engine consists of the valve covers, heads, block, timing chain and
housing, harmonic balancer and oil pan. Engine does not include
the injector pump, injectors, injector fuel lines, timing chain cover,
oil filter bracket, sensors, water pump, intake and exhaust manifolds,
flywheel, glow plugs or vacuum pump.

CAN I PUT THESE IN CIVILIAN VEHICLES?
YES! If you have a civilian 6.5 that you have blown or worn out,
all the external parts from your engine should fit on this 6.5 long block.
The block and heads on the HMMWVVs are basically the same as the
civilian engines. The oil pan is deeper, so you may have to put the oil
pan from your old engine on this engine. The holes that the oil cooler
lines screw into are larger on this block, so you may have to add a bushing
to match the thread size.
The year on our engines varies, but all your components should fit
regardless of the year of your application.

The water pump for these engines are set up for V Belt system,
if you are running a Serpentine Belt you will need to change out
water pump with yours or put a new pump in
(we recommend this on any engine change out).
The V Belt has a opposite rotation to the
Serpentine and the engine will not cool properly!
WE HAVE 6.5 Center Mount Turbo's and 6.2 Engines available also!

WHAT KIND OF CONDITION ARE THESE ENGINES IN?
Great! Because we have multiples of these, the picture we
have provided is from an engine we have already sold.
Other engines will be in similar shape. Keep in mind that these are
TAKE OUT engine. THEY ARE NOT BRAND NEW. They might have
dents in the oil pan or the valve covers and show normal
scratches, discoloration, etc. from being in use or moved around
during removal and/or storage. Engines are cranked and tested and there are
no obvious leaks. None of these minor cosmetic flaws
affect the performance or reliability of the engines in any way, Sticker side valve
cover can not be replaced without losing the EPA sticker.
Pictures show minor valve cover dents on EPA Sticker side.
Not all engines have the same dents these pictures are just and example.
The engine you receive will look like these pictures or better.

HOW MANY MILES DO THESE ENGINES HAVE ON THEM?
The engines had in the 10,000-40,000 mile range when they were
pulled from the HMMWVs. We can not tell the exact mileage on each
engine as they were not marked when we got them from the contractor.

HOW CAN I BE SURE I AM GETTING A GOOD PRODUCT?
We have sold 100’s of these 6.5 engines and ALL HAVE BEEN TEST-RUN
by our own team of certified mechanics. Each engine is cranked and run at
least 3 times throughout the testing process.
We also COMPRESSION CHECK EACH ONE . The engine must meet our
standards or we don't sell them.
They sound great and hold approx: 50 lbs. oil pressure at idle and
about 75 lbs. at higher RPMs. They do not have any leaks or other
problems that we can see. We want them to be trouble-free.
When YOU don't have problems, WE don't have problems.

how to go about hooking one up.
We have sold lots of them to people to put in boats and we got
good reports back from them.
